Making Technology Work for Us!

We are readying the computer lab for courses that serve a range of needs and levels of experience. We have experts prepping courses in:

• basic video editing (using Windows Movie Maker software)
• basic computer literacy
• graphic design for flyers and adverts
• website design and management
• introductory, intermediate and advanced linux
• using PHP and MySQL
• introductory social networking (MySpace, Facebook, NING, etc.)
• integrating PayPal and Google Checkout into online fundraising
• organizing and growing listservs
• the fundamentals of computer literacy

All of these courses will be supported by a large network of progressive organizers with strong  tech credentials. In addition, the cost of the courses will low enough to ensure accessibility and ensure that everyone who wants to enroll can do so regardless of ability to pay.

The lab was made possible by combining a donation from Community Resources for Justice with skills, equipment and time from TecsChange, Latin@s for Social Change, and the Organizers Collaborative.
