NOTE: Please read actual city signage when you park; some or all of the guidelines may not be applicable when you try parking; this may result in a ticket or fine. Here is a detailed street map. To the best of our knowledge, this information is current as of August 28, 2007.
NOTE: Most streets in Chinatown are one-way roads; always check signage carefully.
On-street parking options are severely limited in Chinatown. Here are some rules of thumb:
- http://www.encuentro5.org/index_files/index_bullet.gif); font-family: arial, sans-serif; text-align: -webkit-left; background-color: rgb(153, 153, 255); ">
- Most parking spots on Harrison, Tyler, Hudson and Beach Streets are zoned for commercial vehicles and become available to non-commercial vehicles after either 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
- Essex and Kneeland Streets' metered parking (both one block from e5) metered parking becomes available after 6:00 p.m. evenings (the meters function through 8:00 p.m. with every 15 minutes hour costing a quarter).
- Most downtown streets (within 5 blocks north of e5) allow parking for free on Sundays or in the late evenings.
- Most Chinatown parking slots south of Kneeland are metered during the day and for residents only during the evenings.
- It is difficult and very time consuming to park on street in Chinatown on Friday evenings, all-day Saturdays, and Sundays through mid-afternoon.
Commercial Parking options are available and somewhat costly:

- Stanhope Garage (33 Essex Street, enter off both Essex and Harrison) charges either $10 or $15 for parking after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends
- There is also parking on Beach Street (turn right off Harrison).
- Four blocks away, one can park under Boston Common (enter off Charles Street) for $10/day on Saturdays and Sundays. Their contact information is: 0 Charles St Boston, MA 02116, (617) 954-2098. Follow directions from the Green Line (Boylston Stop) to encuentro5.
- Depending on the number of people coming, a cheaper alternative is to park at the MBTA-operated Lechemere T-stop parking and take the subway to Boylston. It costs $3.50 per day to park.
- Orange Line T-stops from North Station through Oak Grove have parking lots attached; so too does the Forest Hills stop.
